About the Opportunity
This is a full-time, permanent Civil Foreman position offering the chance to lead high-impact civil construction projects throughout the region. You’ll lead a dedicated crew on key infrastructure projects involving deep utilities, roadworks, and large-scale earthworks across the region. You’ll play a central role in daily site operations, working closely with management to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality project delivery.
About the Position
Reporting to a General Foreman or Civil Superintendent, the Civil Foreman will oversee daily field operations, manage crews, coordinate with trades, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. Projects are based throughout the Lower Mainland.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate daily operations of civil construction crews, including laborers and equipment operators
- Read and implement construction drawings, plans, and specifications with precision
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and quality standards
- Lead daily planning sessions, toolbox talks, and on-site safety meetings
- Manage the scheduling of material deliveries, equipment allocation, and subcontractor activities
- Monitor project timelines, crew productivity, and site conditions; provide regular updates to the Project Manager or Superintendent
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve on-site challenges related to scheduling, quality, or safety concerns
- Ensure tools and equipment are used correctly and maintained in good working condition
- Keep detailed records of work completed, hours worked, equipment usage, and any incidents or issues
- Support the development of crew members through hands-on training and mentorship to boost skills and efficiency.
Requirements:
Must Have:
- 5+ years civil construction experience, leading civil crews (laborers / Equipment operators)
- Focus on Deep utilities / Road works & Earth Works
- Must be able to interpret blueprints & drawings and grades
- Effective leadership of crews in both comms and written
- Be able to lead Site Safety meetings + daily team and trades meetings (Toolbox meetings)
- Local Lower Mainland Vancouver experience
Nice to Have:
- Have had Field technology
- Exp with HeavyBid or HeavyJob / HCSS / Bluebeam
- Safety certification (OFA L 2-3; Fall Protection; Confined space
- Familiar with working in a union environment (CLAC) + willing to join CLAC
- Red Seal is an asset
- Heavy Equipment Operators license.
Compensation:
- Hourly wage: $45.00 – $55.00 per hour, plus overtime (negotiable)
