We are currently seeking an Intermediate or Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This position is offered as a 1-year renewable contract with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.
What You’ll Do
- Develop technical studies, system specifications, and electrical drawings for both naval and commercial vessels
- Select and integrate equipment across various electrical systems
- Analyze power and communication systems (e.g., voltage drop, short-circuit current calculations)
- Write clear, detailed engineering reports to support decisions and recommendations
- Apply engineering changes to existing ship designs, ensuring they meet regulations and maintain system performance
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team on systems integration projects
What You Bring
- A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
- Minimum 5 years of experience with 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and engineering design or integration work
- Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience with naval warship design or marine defense projects is a strong asset
