We are hiring an HR Assistant for a temporary assignment with our Victoria client. This HR Assistant role will begin immediately and will run until November. This is an ideal role for an HR student with a strong administrative background looking to gain experience in a collaborative and supportive work environment. The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.
About Our Client
Based just outside of Downtown Victoria, our logistics client is well established in both Canada and the US. With many years as a leader in their industry, they are still growing rapidly and are looking to add some temporary support for their busy season!
About The Opportunity
The HR Assistant will be responsible for supporting the high volume onboarding of seasonal employees. Organizing and collecting new hire documentation, drafting letters and communications, issuing ROE’s and assisting with basic recruitment. This role is 100% office based, the location is transit accessible, and it’s a great place to work!
About The Position
- Recruitment for entry level positions.
- Posting jobs, screening applicants and coordinating interviews.
- Managing employee documents and files, collecting new hire documents.
- Drafting offer letters, benefits administration, tax forms.
- Issuing ROE’s.
- Offboarding.
The Requirements
- Post secondary education is preferred. Open to applicants currently working towards a degree or diploma in Human Resources.
- 2+ years of experience in an administrative role; 1+ year of experience in an HR position is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, accurate data entry skills.
- Must be able to meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to manage high volume administrative tasks and remain organized.
- Must be available to start immediately and work until November.
- Must be able to provide professional references and pass background checks.
Compensation
- Hourly rate between $23.50 – 27.50/hour depending on experience + 4% in lieu of vacation.
