We’re recruiting a Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist for a well-established private investment company providing accounting services to multiple affiliated businesses.
This will be a 3 month contract located on site in Nisku with potential to convert into a permanent position.
About the Opportunity:
This role supports a busy accounting team handling high volumes of payroll and accounts payable functions across several companies in Canada and the U.S. It’s an ideal fit for a candidate with a few solid years of payroll and AP experience, a strong attention to detail, and a practical, mature approach to their work.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll (Canada & U.S.):
- Process nine payrolls (50 employees total, bi-weekly) for three entities using Ceridian (experience required), Wagepoint, and Journey
- Handle payroll data entry and reconcile records with accuracy
- Participate in approximately 2–3 payroll processing days every 10-day period
Accounts Payable:
- Support AP for 21 affiliated companies
- Process high volumes of payables quickly and accurately using Evolution and EverPoint (training provided)
- Complete journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and bankruptcy processing
- Allocate charges and services to multiple entities within the corporate group
What You’ll Bring:
- Ceridian payroll processing experience is required
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail
- Prior AP experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Able to lift up to 25–30 lbs and walk long distances within the facility as needed
- Reliable transportation to Nisku
- Self-motivated, open to feedback, and eager to pitch in where needed
