Opportunity to work in one of British Columbia’s biggest mechanical contractors working with a team of experienced Project Managers on commercial, industrial and residential retrofit projects.

Our client is a leading mechanical contractor that has been in the business for over 25 years and have multiple offices across BC. They have a track record of several successful projects completed throughout Western Canada. This role will allow you to build your portfolio and work on exciting new projects such as hospitals, care homes, and large government buildings.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will report to the Director of Special Projects. This is your opportunity to learn and grow in the mechanical field in a company that promotes from within. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating and managing mechanical projects ranging from $200K – $10M.
ABOUT THE POSITION
As a Project Manager/Estimator you will work closely with the management team and your duties will be as follows:
- Reviewing awarded contracts and defining work scopes
- Working with the estimating team in project pre-planning activities
- Managing and approving shop drawing
- Negotiating, approving, and managing subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
- Managing project construction from start to finish with duties including client and project partner management, material procurement, scheduling, budgeting, project tracking, progress reporting, billing, and project close-out.
- Managing construction documents including RFI’s, Change Orders and Site Instructions
- Successfully delivering projects meeting client expectations and company procedures and policies
- Building and maintaining client relationships for business referral and retention
- Working with Project Accountant and Controller to satisfy project financial restraints.
- Collaborating with Director of Field Operations to implement labor and install strategies.
- Reviewing shop drawings and ensure accuracy before submittal and reviewing returned submittals.
- Ensuring that project documents are compliant with GC’s standards or processes.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years experience in Mechanical Construction in BC
- Experience working on ICI and residential projects
- BA in Mechanical Engineering an asset
- Proficient using construction software such as MS Project, Bluebeam and Procore
COMPENSATION
- $100,000 – $140,000 depending on experience
- 100% extended dental and health coverage.
- 3% RRSP matching, increased to 5% after a year.
