Our client is a Vancouver-based real estate development company specializing in urban industrial, commercial and residential developments. This company strives to push the boundaries of what’s possible with solid understanding in cities and markets. As a result they are growing quickly and acquiring new projects every few months. They have delivered over $2 billion of real estate across Canada.
 
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Junior Accountant is a newly created role, and will be reporting directly to the Senior Accountant. This role involves full-cycle bookkeeping activities, overseeing financial data and accounting practices, financial transactions and AP/AR processes. The company is in growth mode, which means this role is expected to be evolving month after month – you’ll constantly be learning new things and picking up new tasks.   
 
ABOUT THE POSITION
This role is located in Downtown Vancouver. There is the flexibility to work from home for part of the week.
  • General bookkeeping duties
  • Posting journal entries
  • Reconciling accounts
  • Preparing trial balances
  • Maintaining general ledgers
  • Preparing financial statements  as bank reconciliation and credit card reconcili
  • Overseeing all financial transactions such ationsFull cycle AP and AR
  • Project accounting
  • Maintaining financial records, contracts, budgets, tax reports, financial statements
  • Various other duties as assigned by management  
THE REQUIREMENTS
  • 0-2 years of full cycle accounting experience
  • Post secondary education in Accounting
  • Pursuing CPA designation
  • Previous experienced in real estate or construction is a bonus
  • Exceptional organization and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • A solid contributor and team player with the ability to work independently 
  • Strong technical skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Positive can do attitude
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
COMPENSATION
  • $48,000 – $60,000 annual salary
  • Paid vacation
  • Health benefits after 3 months
  • CPA support
