Our client, a leader in their field, is looking for a Warehouse Training Specialist. In this role you will be responsible for the development and delivery of training programs tailored to a warehouse and manufacturing environment. This includes onboarding, safety training, and equipment operation (e.g., forklift, crane ect) to ensure staff are properly trained and certified in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The role works closely with business supervisors, operations leaders, and safety personnel to drive a culture of continuous learning and safe practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with operations leadership to identify training needs and implement effective learning solutions
- Coordinate and deliver hands-on and classroom-based training programs for warehouse staff, including forklift and crane operation
- Conduct training needs assessments using surveys, interviews, and site observations
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), training documentation, and safety guidelines
- Deliver compliance, safety, and operational training aligned with regulatory requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through on-the-job coaching and cross-training programs
- Track training completion and maintain accurate training records and certifications
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and recommend adjustments as needed
- Source and coordinate with external training providers and certification bodies when required
- Stay current with best practices in business operations and safety training
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse or manufacturing operations with training responsibilities
- Certification or hands-on experience in forklift, crane, or other material handling equipment (MHE) training
- Background in Adult Education, Occupational Health & Safety, Logistics, or a related field is an asset
- Experience developing and delivering training programs
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong facilitation and instructional skills, especially in hands-on training environments
- Familiarity with safety regulations, WHMIS, and workplace compliance standards
- Ability to train in both classroom and on-the-floor settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse teams
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or e-learning platforms is an asset
