Our client has been operational for 40+ years and has a track record of delivering both wood frame and concrete mixed-use projects through the Vancouver Lower Mainland.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a Chief Estimator role and play a crucial role in preconstruction, cost estimates, liaising with clients and bidding on projects.
ABOUT THE POSITION
In this role your duties will be as follows:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documentation to thoroughly understand project scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, subcontractors, and partners to collect and validate essential project information.
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and develop accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project-related expenses.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals, negotiating terms to ensure competitiveness and maximize value.
- Identify and recommend cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities to improve overall project efficiency.
- Prepare and present cost estimate reports to senior management and stakeholders, delivering clear insights into project budgets and cost structures.
- Support active projects by tracking budgets and implementing effective cost-control strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and update cost databases, unit pricing, and historical data to ensure accuracy and consistency in future estimates.
- Stay current with industry best practices, market trends, and evolving construction standards.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years experience as a Senior Estimator
- Experience working on both wood frame and concrete multi family projects
- Proficient using Procore, OnScreen Takeoff and Bluebeam
COMPENSATION
- $150,000 – $170,000 depending on experience
- Monthly car allowance
- 100% extended health and dental benefits paid by employer
- Annual discretionary bonuses
- 4 weeks vacation
