They are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the daily operations of the practice, coordinating court filings, conducting court searches, and ensuring the seamless execution of legal processes.

They are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the daily operations of the practice, coordinating court filings, conducting court searches, and ensuring the seamless execution of legal processes.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage insurance defence, plaintiff, and mediation practices, including scheduling, email correspondence, and deadlines with confidence and independence. Coordinate with court reporters, insureds, and insurers as needed.
- Draft a variety of legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings (e.g., Statements of Defence, Affidavits of Records, Formal Offers, and Third-Party Claims), expert report referrals, and other legal documents based on dictation, handwritten notes, or other instructions.
- Maintain and organize legal files, including opening, managing, and closing files, digital filing of daily emails, and document management across various platforms.
- Conduct due diligence searches as required.
- Communicate effectively with clients, internal team members, and third-party representatives to ensure seamless case management.
- Serve as the first point of contact for insurer clients, delegating files to junior counsel, preparing correspondence for insurers and opposing counsel, and managing insurer record production for upload and distribution.
- Oversee judgment and writ renewals on Remindex, including preparing correspondence for insurer clients and delegating renewal files to junior counsel while ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Accurately record time entries into Acumin, review accounts to ensure compliance with insurer billing thresholds, and issue client-compliant invoices.
- Perform additional administrative legal assistant duties, such as uploading production materials into NetDocs, preparing production binders, coordinating court filings, and serving filed documents and records.
- Post-secondary education in Legal Administration, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a Legal Assistant supporting a litigation practice.
- Proficiency in legal software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and a proactive approach to tasks.
