Aplin has teamed up with a global leader providing specialized solutions for the energy sector. Our client is seeking a driven Mechanical Technologist or Engineer with experience in HVAC design and manufacturing to join their Calgary team. In this role, you will collaborate with the building design and delivery team to support projects worldwide. Your responsibilities will include developing mechanical system designs for industrial building projects using AutoCAD and REVIT, ensuring compliance with specified requirements.

Position Overview:
  • Design drafting and modeling HVAC and plumbing systems using Revit.
  • Creation of construction drawings developed from preliminary, concepts, sketches or specifications.
  • Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
  • Utilize BIM to analyze potential design solutions for building services clashes.
  • Coordination of information from vendors and subcontractors (submittals, drawings, documents, etc.)
  • Document review & control using Procore, One drive, & Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Develop sub-contractor work packages
  • Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets for project submittals.
  • Support project management, estimating, and engineering team members to deliver successful buildings projects.
  • Attend project meetings via Microsoft Teams

Qualifications:
  • A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar post-secondary education.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering specifications.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in drafting and design of HVAC systems.
  • Experience with REVIT & AutoCAD. Proficiency with REVIT is required for the role.
  • Knowledge of pre-engineered metal buildings, industrial ventilation systems, and commercial HVAC equipment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Building and Energy Codes is an asset.
