Shipping Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accurate and effective shipment of product, as per customer specifications
• Supervise all processes and procedures in the shipping department, including disciplinary action as required
• Assist in preparation of all required shipping documents 
• Organize work duties for shipping crew and provide supervision, training, and guidance to staff
• Accurately track all information on computer, including personnel information for reports
• Oversee the examination and inspection of all outgoing shipments
• Safely operate forklift truck and ensure forklift is in safe, operating condition by conducting daily forklift check
• Direct that all products are identified properly and moved to designated areas
• Ensure all data is entered accurately
• Identify and report any shipping discrepancies immediately to the manager
• Effectively schedule all deliveries
• Determines space requirements in freezer/storage units and report any concerns observed
• Operate under the regulated food safety requirements

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of related leadership or supervisory experience in logistics and warehousing
• Must be comfortable with MS office Applications
• Be organized and able to affect cost-effective transportation solutions
• Strong verbal and written skills and customer service skills are critical for the position
• Valid forklift license
