Reporting to the Technical Director, the Technical Services Manager has experience in concrete construction with relevant experience in areas such as construction waterproofing, estimating, construction project management or supervision, concrete repair, ICRI, concrete durability and service life, concrete technology, and admixtures.

The successful candidate will provide engineering and technical support for concrete waterproofing, protection, and repair projects and applications to the client's personnel and customers. 

Responsibilities:
Project Technical Support:
  • Project-specific inquiries related to engineering and technical matters, product information, and applications from:
    • Engineers, architects, contractors, other customers,
    • Company's sales staff including regional managers, distributors, and affiliates
  • Project submissions:
    • Detailed submissions for key projects
  • Project testing support, e.g.  trial batching, mock-ups, etc
  • Troubleshooting problems, reports of failures, etc
  • Key project site visits
Technical Documents and Sales Materials:
  • Development of technical documents such as technical presentations, product data sheets, technical notes, and technical content for marketing
  • Review independent test reports
Technical Sales Support:
  • Attend conferences, and trade shows, represent Xypex on industry committees
  • Key project site visits
Technical Training:
  • Technical strategy webinars
  • Technical document distribution and training
  • Hands-on training demonstrations
Research & Development Support:
  • Assist with product testing and trials
  • Assist with new product concept development
  • Assistance with test programs and data review
Travel:
  • Some US/Canada and International travel – typically 2-5 times per year
Qualifications:
  • Valuable areas of experience include one or more of the following fields:
    • construction: general contracting, concrete repair, construction waterproofing, project management, construction estimating
    • manufacturing: concrete admixtures, construction products
    • consulting and testing: concrete durability and service-life design testing, analysis and design, concrete technology
  • 5+ years of technical experience in concrete construction-related field
  • English (other languages are an asset)
  • Civil or other engineering or science degree, diploma, or sufficient related industry experience
  • Understanding of concrete technology and construction practice
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (important)
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Good presentation skills
 
Salary: $120k to $150k based on qualifications, plus bonus and benefits.
