Aplin has partnered with a land development firm in Calgary, AB to help find a talented Project Engineer to join their team.

In this role you will perform planning-level and detailed engineering design for subdivisions, including but not limited to roadway geometry and vertical alignment, earthworks, grading, storm and sanitary sewer, watermain systems, overland drainage, and erosion and sediment control. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, contributing technical expertise while collaborating within a professional team.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with CAD technologists to create engineering plans, construction drawings, and project-specific figures.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities to secure necessary engineering approvals in line with project schedules.
  • Prepare, review, and validate engineering reports, such as traffic noise analyses, earthworks studies, sanitary servicing evaluations, and erosion and sediment control documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with a relevant regulatory body (e.g., APEGA).
  • At least five years of experience in land development engineering, including preparation and submission of construction drawings and securing approvals.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, including its advanced features such as alignments, profiles, corridors, and pipe networks for dynamic CAD outputs.
  • Self-driven with a focus on producing high-quality, detailed work.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a team environment.
