Reporting to the Manager of the Project Management Office, the Estimator will be responsible for preparing bids on all Tenders and Requests for Quotations for all trades in residential and commercial buildings, renovations, and construction.
The Estimator will accurately prepare, manage, and report on bids with values up to $5 million, ensuring submittal deadlines are met.
This position will work directly with the Project Management and Maintenance teams to assist with specification review, strategy, and procurement of projects during handover review for work locations.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor tender websites and conduct a detailed analysis of the contract documents and specifications to determine and validate overall project requirements, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop estimates following company procedures including material takeoff and pricing of own workforces and subcontractor work as required.
- Participate in project development activities including scope definition and clarification, preconstruction planning, and control estimate development on external and internal projects.
- Prepare bids from small renovations to large design-build projects.
- Monitor tender due dates and submit before the tender deadline.
- Conduct thorough project handover meetings with appropriate stakeholders, detailing relevant project information for successful execution.
- Assist with material requisitions, researching pricing and specifications as required.
- File and organize project documents.
- Provide weekly reports on all tender submittals and award status.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in multi-trade construction estimating and project management.
- Formal education in Construction Management, Trades, Project Management, Estimating, or another related field.
- Experience with estimating techniques such as quantity takeoffs, the tendering process, and negotiating contracts.
- Drive to grow the department and division by building competitive proposals and relationships.
- Previous knowledge of project planning, resource allocation, and on-site experience in construction
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents such as plans, specifications, blueprints, and other technical materials.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the demands in sometimes unpredictable circumstances.
- Capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships with project teams, trades, sub-contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Proficient in MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook and knowledge of estimating/project management software preferred.
- Solutions-focused with strong leadership and management skills
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
