Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Accountant – Project Controls, is primarily responsible for providing financial oversight during all the stages of the project and to oversee the financial aspects and budget control of a large-scale project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the comprehensive financial management and governance of large-scale projects, ensuring precise budget control, monitoring allocations, expenditures, and variances.
  • Provide high-level financial reporting and insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Partner with senior project managers, finance leadership, and cross-functional teams to integrate project financials with corporate strategies. Drive decision-making by providing executive-level financial insights that influence project scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee the review and interpretation of contracts, ensuring that all financial terms are fully adhered to and reflected in accounting systems. Lead efforts to mitigate financial risks by ensuring project accounting aligns with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Establish and lead robust project control mechanisms, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor cost, scope, and schedule performance. Ensure rigorous cost tracking and variance analysis, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective actions to safeguard project financial health.
  • Direct the tracking and management of complex project costs, including labor, materials, subcontractor expenses, and overheads.
  • Leverage advanced SAP PS modules to manage and control project financials, ensuring seamless integration across financial processes.
  • Champion the continuous improvement of SAP-related workflows to enhance financial data accuracy, streamline reporting, and support project lifecycle financial control from initiation through close-out.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 10+ years of progressive experience in project accounting and project controls.
  • Accounting designation is a MUST HAVE (CPA, CMA, CA, etc.).
  • Strong leadership and coordination of cross functional (e.g., Finance/EHS) resources for the completion of key projects.
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, segregation of duties and audit functions.
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Extensive computer skills and systems experience in MS Office, advanced Excel & Query Skills, Financial & informational systems, and data modeling. Expert level knowledge of SAP required.
  • Ability to work independently with strong leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills.
