Aplin has partnered with a Vancouver-based business that is currently seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Securities Operations Associate to join their team for a 6-month contract. In this role, you will manage critical operations related to equity and fixed income trades, mutual funds, pooled funds, GICs, corporate actions, and reconciliations. Salary Range: $25/hour 

Responsibilities:
  • Process Fundserv mutual fund settlements and other securities transactions.
  • Review, reconcile, and process daily transactions within the securities operations scope.
  • Oversee and maintain the security master, including setups, maintenance, and pricing.
  • Communicate with the Client Services Team and external contacts, addressing transaction requests and inquiries.
  • Coordinate workflow and communication across the team to ensure an equitable workload distribution.
  • Monitor team activities to ensure tasks are completed within established timelines, meeting service level agreements and operational policies.
  • Investigate and resolve errors or discrepancies identified by Internal Controls or Client Services.
  • Maintain and update procedural documents relevant to assigned activities.
  • Participate in departmental projects and initiatives related to post-trade securities operations.
Qualifications:
  • Strong client relationship skills with a client-first approach and excellent communication abilities.
  • Must have experience using Fundserv software.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cooperative environment.
  • Basic understanding of brokerage or custody operations.
  • Prior experience in the Canadian securities industry, preferably at a brokerage firm or custodian.
  • Understanding of RRSP, RRIF, and TFSA rules is a must.
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is preferred.
  • Experience with GlobalPlus or FIS Unity is a plus.
  • A high school diploma is required; additional qualifications are an asset.
