This individual will create, maintain, and control the project and delivery schedules, including the monitoring and reporting of project status. Actively work to resolve scheduling issues, working with internal and external stakeholders to formulate recovery plans.
At this level, the incumbent will be expected to work independently on the routine aspects of the activity, and under guidance and supervision in more complex situations.
They will have a level of knowledge in one or more areas of planning/scheduling practice and be expected to apply in routine circumstances and to seek and follow guidance on their adaptation and application in more complex circumstances.

Core Duties
Typical duties include (but are not limited to):
- Have a clear understanding and application of the Quality and HS&E Management System documentation e.g., Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments etc. applicable to your work scope and to obey all HS&E rules.
- Creation of schedules to support the execution of projects.
- Feedback any ideas to enhance continuous improvement.
- Liaise with other areas of the business to build sound customer relations.
- Support training, mentoring and guidance to lower grade members of the planning team. Demonstrate responsibility for own development.
- Play an active part within meetings as required by the role.
- Communicate effectively with the team and Planning management.
- Support knowledge captured within Planning and all relevant business areas applicable to their discipline/area of responsibility.
- Produce high level Project status information.
- Assist the Planning Management in implementing Planning process relating to their discipline.
- Conduct analysis and regular performance reviews and corrective action plans within the Planning process for their discipline responsibility.
The role holder is accountable for:
- Accountable as a member of the Planning/Scheduling team for supporting development and implementation of appropriately tailored Planning/Scheduling practices.
- No staff supervisory responsibilities.
- May on occasion provide informal technical support to new team members.
- Accountable for ensuring one or more aspects of Planning/Scheduling practices in project are suitable for purpose.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
- Good knowledge and understanding of Planning/Scheduling policies, processes, procedures, and systems.
- Planning/Scheduling experience demonstrated in a professional capacity within a project
- Good knowledge and understanding of their project.
- Good understanding of one or more Planning/Scheduling tools techniques and practices.
- Good knowledge of the Business environment for their project.
- Knowledge of PM governance and assurance processes such as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs).
- Experience of working with stakeholders typically inside the company.
- Good understanding of the wider Planning/Scheduling environment, and of developments and practices in the field.
- Good understanding of own project/s, its markets, customers, strategic priorities, and culture
- Knowledge acquired through job related training and on the job experience, generally non-theoretical skills.
- Proficient user of modern planning/scheduling systems (e.g., Primavera P6, MSP).
- Problem solving is most likely to apply in an existing Business environment.
- Good understanding of the structure, organization, processes, and culture of project, to be able to support implementation of appropriate Project Control approaches.
- Apply problem solving techniques to routine situations or situations of moderate complexity under supervision, in the field of Project Control, taking requirements and data from internal (project) sources and external (customer, competitor and academic) areas.
- An ability to gather information. Supports development of solutions and implementation approaches.
- Ability to find and adopt best practice.
- A good understanding of how your own team integrates with other teams to achieve objectives.
- Work is within standardized procedures and practices; accuracy of tasks is impactful.
- Needs to work effectively in a team.
- Needs to take responsibility for own performance and development.
- Quality and timeliness of work reflect the effectiveness of the immediate team. Business acumen that goes beyond immediate team.
- Ability to make judgments on analysis of information.
- Impact in terms of providing services/information on matters that assist others in controlling or making decisions.

- Communication is a key aspect of the job.
- Application of related PM Competencies will be expected at this level.
- University Degree or relevant project management experience will be expected.
- Incumbent will be expected to have or working towards a PM Qualification such as the APM Project Management Qualification or another appropriate PM professional body.
