Aplin has partnered with a South Edmonton-based company to hire a Regulatory Affairs Specialist!  As a Regulatory Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining open borders for our client's products worldwide by ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Positioned at the heart of the regulatory team, you will contribute to the success of international operations by managing regulatory documentation, overseeing data entry for regulatory updates, and maintaining accurate, accessible records. Reporting to the Regulatory Affairs Manager, you'll collaborate with customs agents, distributors, and regulatory bodies across North America, EMEA, and APAC regions to facilitate uninterrupted product distribution. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and regulatory expertise will be essential in supporting the commitment to health and nutrition on a global scale. 

Responsibilities:
  • Support preparation and submission of product registrations and renewals for multiple global markets.
  • Serve as a liaison with customs, brokers, distributors, regulators, and relevant authorities.
  • Complete import permit applications for Canada and the United States.
  • Advise on regulatory matters influencing product and business processes through Acts and Regulations interpretation.
  • Guide export certification processes, customs requirements, and lead times for approvals.
  • Represent the organization in key trade and regulatory organizations.
  • Monitor and assess regulation changes and their potential impact on the business.
  • Review product labelling and packaging claims for regulatory compliance across diverse regions.
  • Provide regulatory support and information to international distributors and sales representatives.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities to establish new market entry opportunities.
  • Support product development by ensuring ingredient and food compliance.
  • Maintain professional relationships with external regulators and ensure effective internal communication.
  • Develop storytelling opportunities aligned with global industry regulations.
  • Track import/export permits and recommend workflow improvements.
  • Update and organize regulatory files, budget reports, and registration timelines in SharePoint.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or equivalent regulatory experience (5–8 years).
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and food production (preferred).
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented with problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills for a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate principles and regulatory facts.
  • Proven ability to foster cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Skilled in coordinating meetings and presenting with visual tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in English, with additional languages as an asset.
