Project Specialist (Freight Forwarding)

Responsibilities:

• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accurately accomplished, within a prescribed time frame.
• Quote, fully define, document and execute airfreight, trucking, and ocean freight shipments.
• Project manage and coordinate Air freight, Trucking (LTL, FTL, OD), Ocean Freight (LCL, Container, Breakbulk, RORO)
• Respond to customer service requests.
• Coordinate with vendors to manage cargo transit (e.g., dispatching carriers, and creating bookings).
• Create necessary documentation for shipments such as Bills of Lading, Air waybills, and others as required.
• Communicate with suppliers, vendors, customers, etc. on a consistent basis.
• Keep records of executed orders and costs in accordance with company policies.
• Prepare and deliver regular status reports.
• Work with the team to modify schedules if needed.
• Understand incoterms and export/import filings for Canada/USA.

 Qualifications:

• Minimum 5-10 years of experience required.
• Access to transportation is a must.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to work effectively and consistently under pressure.
• Impeccable attention to detail and organization skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written with a customer-centric nature.
