Join a top employer and advance your career. Our client, a leader in their field has partnered with Aplin to hire a Financial Analyst. The Analyst is involved in all phases of potential transactions, including evaluation of opportunities, development of deal models, due diligence, deal structuring, and transaction execution. The Analyst is responsible for assisting their Manager/Director in preparing presentations for the Executive Team and Board of Directors reporting on transactions and corporate development initiatives.

This is a remote opportunity available to candidates in the Greater Toronto Area as onsite visits will be required periodically.

Responsibilities:
  • Support investment/M&A opportunities including execution, negotiation, due diligence, financial modeling, and valuation
  • Assist in preparing business case analyses for joint ventures, acquisitions, and major capital investments
  • Assist in preparing strategic corporate development presentations for the Executive Team and Board of Director audiences
  • Perform market research to evaluate strategic growth opportunities and potential investment/M&A targets
  • Creates frameworks and financial models that address business problems and result in strategic insights
  • Ad-hoc financial modeling assistance to support other business/organizational needs
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required
  • Experience in Corporate Development, Private Equity, M&A, and/or Valuation
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or significant progress towards the CFA
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with financial statements (ratio analysis, performance return measures)
  • Strong understanding of financial valuation methodologies (e.g., Discounted Cash Flow and comparable company analysis)
  • Strong financial modeling including the ability to develop driver-based FCF models including NPV and ROI analysis
  • Experience developing business cases, sophisticated financial projections, analysis, and valuation of potential significant business opportunities
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, written and oral
  • Enjoys a high-paced work environment and speedy execution of deliverables
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting across priorities as business needs evolve • Intense attention to detail and the ability to fully articulate business drivers impacting the numbers
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of common research tools, such as Pitchbook, Capital IQ, and Bloomberg
