Our client, a highly respected Financial Advisor team based in downtown Winnipeg, has partnered with Stacey Danley at Aplin in the search for an Investment Advisor Assistant. The Assistant’s primary focus is to assist an advisor in the day-to-day trading and administration of their business.

Responsibilities: 
  • Responding to client inquiries and troubleshooting issues as needed 
  • Reviewing client portfolios alongside the advisor to ensure alignment with risk profiles
  • Entering clients' trades as directed by the client and/or advisor
  • Staying up to date with regulatory rules and trading activities
  • Gathering research and project information
  • Following up on missing documentation
  • Issuing instructions for withdrawals, deposits, and transfers
  • Developing and distributing marketing materials
  • Organizing client events and sponsorship activities
  • Reviewing commission reports
  • Preparing, analyzing, and presenting reports and annual summaries
  • Recommending process improvements and office efficiencies as needed

Qualifications: 
  • 5+ years of related work experience in client administration, with an investment counsel firm, broker, financial planner, or mutual fund company
  • Completion of a Business Administration program or related post-secondary education would be an asset
  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conducts & Practices Handbook (CPH) and holds a valid Investment Representative (IR) or Registered Representative (RR) license through IIROC
  • Proficiency with technology including Excel and client databases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to deliver a high level of customer service
  • Strong mathematical acumen with an ability to analyze, investigate and problem-solve as needed
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy and attention to detail
