Controller

Our client, a growing custom home builder, is looking for a talented Controller to join their team in Calgary. Reporting to the President, the Controller will play a critical role in overseeing all financial aspects of the operations, providing financial leadership and ensuring the financial health and stability of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare year end working papers for review.
• Month end financial statement preparation for management review.
• Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of the company.
• Assisting with risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Preparing cash flow forecasting.
• Developing/improving data analytical capabilities.
• Liaising with lenders and providing reporting as required.
• Oversee the finance team, providing continuous coaching, mentorship, and career development support.
• Other ad hoc projects as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Prior responsibility for full-cycle accounting and finance functions, including reporting, analysis and issues resolution.
• Experience using QuickBooks Online is preferred.
• Strong technical accounting skills.
• Business partner mindset.
