Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a South Central-based company to hire a Payments Administrator who will specialize in Disability Benefits for a 14-month contract.

Position Overview:
Are you a meticulous number-cruncher with a knack for financial precision?  This role will be pivotal in ensuring that covered members receive accurate and timely payments, providing peace of mind during challenging times.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed reviews of calculations and swiftly process adjustments to guarantee precise extended disability benefits payments.
  • Prepare extended disability benefits payroll for seamless transmission to banking channels.
  • Uphold data integrity through rigorous self and peer reviews, ensuring flawless reconciliations.
  • Liaise with employers to gather essential employee earnings information.
  • Offer clear, comprehensive explanations of benefit calculations and adjustments to covered members, addressing any financial inquiries.
  • Manage workload efficiently by prioritizing tasks and promptly addressing internal and external requests.
  • Collaborate with covered members on overpayment resolutions, implementing recovery plans where necessary.
  • Perform annual audits on files to identify additional sources of income.
  • Prepare receiver general remittances to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Identify and propose opportunities for enhancing our payment processing procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Accounting, or Payroll.
  • One to three years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with disability insurance concepts is advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in mathematics and analytics, coupled with problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to navigate multiple systems seamlessly.
  • Previous experience in payroll and accounting, including benefit calculations and account reconciliation.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively, ensuring adherence to departmental service standards.
  • Exceptional customer service ethos, maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, covered members, and employer representatives.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
