Procurement Specialist

Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a Winnipeg based company to hire a Procurement Specialist on a 12-month contract. This position is responsible for RFx development, contract documentation, and departmental processes.

This position is a remote role within Winnipeg as on site visits to the clients office will be required periodically.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and ensure that clients procurement policies are adhered to.
• Lead role in sourcing, supplier evaluation and contract negotiation
• Manages and executes all activities involving procuring goods and service for corporate contracts.
• Advises and leads internal business partners through various procurement processes including design through contract administration.
• Assists in the development and negotiations of new supplier agreements and contracts.
• Maintain RFx database.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years proven experience in contracts administration or related discipline, well versed in contract negotiation
• Enrollment in Purchasing Management program preferred
• Knowledge of Inventory controls/ previous purchasing experience, a definite asset
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs including Excel and Word
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines
• Cross functional team experience
