Angela Degelman, Director of Permanent Search MB/SK has teamed up with a very successful and long-standing business in the Winnipeg market to assist them in recruiting a Controller.  The successful candidate will join a supportive and dynamic team and be responsible for executing accounting procedures, maintaining rental equipment inventory, and guiding the accounting team for the Sales, Service, and Rental Divisions.  The company is made up of very down-to-earth individuals, with realistic expectations that put people and customer service at the forefront of everything they do!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Craft, analyze, and deliver monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Fortify internal controls by developing, strengthening, and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Champion compliance with financial regulations and directives, ensuring the organization is navigating the financial landscape with confidence.
  • Lead the charge on the process for all departments
  • Manage all government tax remittances, and maintain all government reporting and payments (T4s, WCB, ROE).
  • Execute accurate and timely financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements, management reports, financial analysis, recommendations, quarterly and year-end results, forecasting, etc.
  • Assign and review the work of the accounting team, offering input and guidance.
  • Evaluate new credit requests and conduct customer credit checks.
  • Oversee reports to ensure timely and accurate completion of finance duties such as bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, bank, A/R, A/P, etc.
  • Preparation of payroll and administration of benefits for employees.
  • Support a seamless month-end and year-end close process.
  • Serve as a bridge to external accountants and coordinate the annual year-end.
  • Provide HR support as required, contributing to the well-being of the team.

  • Deep understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, legislation, and management.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Texada Rental Management Software, Advanced Excel, and PayWorks Payroll System.
