  • Drives development of winning strategies and manages medium-to-large estimates or portions of large estimates, being accountable for that specific scope.
  • Analyzes contract documents and specs meticulously to validate project requirements.
  • Guides creation of conceptual estimate proposals and presentations for construction management and design-build endeavors.
  • Conducts comprehensive quantity take-offs from project documents and identifies any missing data.
  • Evaluates bid-related documents for risks and opportunities using project and industry insights.
  • Collaborates with internal teams and external parties to develop site logistics, schedules, execution plans, and project budgets.
  • Supports estimate lead by completing tender forms, handling requests for information, and aiding in establishing pursuit schedules.
  • Assists with bid document management by organizing and archiving estimate-related information.
  • Participates in bid-day tasks and supports other estimators in closing various scopes.
  • Presents final cost estimates and tender submissions to chief estimator and district management for review and approval prior to client submission.
  • Sets critical path schedules for estimates/pursuits and oversees estimators' work on pursuits.
  • Leads a team, providing mentorship and coaching to direct and indirect reports.

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field, relevant trade experience, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum of 7-8 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating, with a preference for 6–12 months of on-site experience.
  • Proficiency in diverse construction methods, encompassing planning, scheduling, sequencing, quality assurance, safety protocols, and adherence to timelines.
  • Thorough understanding of essential principles in bid preparation, including quantity takeoff procedures, subtrade partner procurement, pricing strategies, interdepartmental coordination, cost allocation principles, and bid closure procedures.
  • Familiarity with compensation models, market dynamics, industry trends, internal historical data, and competitor analysis to formulate winning strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in leading pursuits valued at up to $100 million across various delivery methods.
  • Proven experience in estimating multiple scopes, with the ability to develop conceptual estimates.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including soliciting subtrade partners and suppliers.
