Angela Degelman, Director of Permanent Search -Accounting and Finance has partnered up with one of our most valued clients in Winnipeg who serves as a registered investment fund manager, portfolio manager and exempt market dealer. They are focused on improving the lives of their clients by investing wisely on their behalf, by providing a world-class client experience and industry-leading communication to those who have entrusted them with their wealth.  Reporting directly to the Manager of Finance, the successful candidate for this role will be responsible for performing the day-to-day accounting and finance activities of the Company and its parent company. This candidate will have a primary focus on payables and expense management and will possess excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform day-to-day accounting activities
  • Credit card & expense processing
  • Prepare month-end closing entries
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist with payroll preparation & updating records
  • Assist with the preparation of government filings
  • Compile financial information to support other departments
  • Assist with Corporate audit preparation and responding to queries from auditors
  • Ad hoc analysis as required
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Intermediate-level accounting education
  • At least 3 -5 years of working experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of the investment industry and good business acumen is an asset
Technical Knowledge:
  • Intermediate working knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office products;
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central an asset;
  • Experience with Concur expense reporting software an asset;
  • Experience with Jet Reports financial reporting software is an asset.
