  • Ensure a "Safety First" attitude throughout the project from all levels of management and operations.
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with the owner or the owner's representative.
  • Read, understand, and plan according to the work specifications and contract responsibilities.
  • Anticipate project conflicts, communicate preventative action plans, and implement solutions to avoid issues.
  • Understand and plan work according to project plans, change orders, shop drawings, subcontracts, purchase orders, and monthly pay estimates.
  • Create, update, review, and maintain a budget for the project. Generate solutions to stay on time and budget.
  • Monitor the cost of Equipment on the project and implement strategies to stay within budget.
  • Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines In P6 CPM.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Oversee daily field activities leading to optimal progression of the project with Superintendents.
  • Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Serves as customer liaison.
  • Manages change orders, budget schedules, claims, safety, and staff.
  • Has overall responsibility for the entire project or projects.
  • Supervise, manage, and direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of personnel.
    Select and oversee Subcontractors and Suppliers.

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Pipe and Concrete, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience with exposure to projects with major scope.
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post-offer drug test.
  • Must be willing to work safely and keep OSHA recordable incidents to a minimum.
  • Moderate to a high level of proficiency in operating Primavera 6 CPM scheduling software.
  • Moderate to a high level of proficiency in operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Profit/loss experience for moderate to major projects or multiple smaller projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and specialty bridge design software; must be proficient with MS Office.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Professional Engineering License (required).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts related to structural engineering and related calculations.
  • Individuals should have some level of business acumen, including knowledge of operating expenses, profit, etc.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Spreadsheet software, Word-Processing software, and reporting tools related to databases. Must have the ability to learn to design software programs.
