Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with an Edmonton-based company to hire an experienced and motivated Senior Engineer Transmission Lines to join their team. 

  • Evaluating, reviewing, and updating construction line Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure adherence to project standards and requirements.
  • Reviewing IFC (Issued for Construction), EWP (Engineering Work Package), and CWP (Construction Work Package) packages to identify risks, potential change orders, and other critical issues.
  • Assisting the Construction Supervisor in preparing Request for Proposal (RFP) packages and conducting bid reviews to facilitate the selection of contractors.
  • Reviewing Contractor Emergency Response Plans (ERPs), construction procedures, safe job plans (such as stringing and grounding), and hazard assessments, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Conducting field inspections, including line inspections, ITP acceptance, and AS-BUILT drawing review and acceptance. Coordinating field visits with Safety Codes personnel as required.
  • Providing support to the Construction Supervisor and Engineering team in addressing project Requests for Information (RFIs) and resolving related issues.
  • Reviewing and offering feedback or recommendations for project change orders or claims as they arise.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Avenza Maps and working with geo-located PDFs for project documentation and spatial analysis.
  • Membership with APEGA (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta) as a Professional Member.
  • Possession of valid First Aid and CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) certifications.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's license.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in transmission line construction, demonstrating a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
