Aplin has partnered with our Edmonton-based client, to look for an Estimator. If you are a detail-oriented individual with a passion for construction project coordination and estimation, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring construction bidding platforms to identify suitable projects aligning with the company's interests.
  • Analyzing blueprints and bid documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
  • Resolving cost differences through thorough analysis and data collection.
  • Conducting quantity take-offs to accurately determine project scope.
  • Obtaining current market pricing for materials and equipment as needed.
  • Preparing and submitting bids and budgets to clients and consultants within specified timelines.
  • Regularly reviewing current and future workload, updating bid progress with stakeholders accordingly.
  • Cultivating and maintaining positive working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and clients.
  • Providing support to project management in addressing any issues related to project scope.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in civil construction or a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in mathematics to develop precise quantity take-offs and material volumes.
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend architectural and structural drawings, as well as project specifications.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and effective communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience with Bluebeam software is considered advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
