Aplin has collaborated with a prominent real estate development company to recruit a motivated Finishing Superintendent for their expanding portfolio of residential construction projects in Vancouver, BC.

They seek a quality-oriented, safety-conscious leader who will work closely with teams to ensure timely delivery of residential projects.

Salary expectations: $90000 - $130000  

Responsibilities:
  • Recognize and promptly address issues as they arise.
  • Command respect for your experience, trust for your judgment, and admiration for your determination from contractors, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to safety professionals and all other site personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to established site processes.
  • Supervise and coordinate interior finishing sub-trades.
  • Maintain schedule targets on a floor-by-floor basis.
  • Review drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections to verify work progress and compliance.
  • Maintain updated 'as built' drawings.
  • Compile and submit project closeout documents including O&M manuals, as-builts, and warranties.
  • Halt work if necessary to address safety or quality concerns.
  • Prepare and complete daily job diaries.
  • Ensure site compliance with the project Health & Safety Plan.
  • Monitor on-site operations for quality compliance and address quality issues according to project processes.
  • Provide leadership and direction as needed.
  • Mentor, coach, and supervise field operations.
  • Review project correspondence and attend meetings as required.
  • Perform formal safety inspections.
  • Ensure completion and submission of all required monthly reports.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of supervisory experience in multi-family residential concrete and/or wood frame construction.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Have extensive experience in overseeing the construction of concrete high-rise condos/apartments, as well as low to mid-rise and/or townhouse wood-frame multi-family development projects.
  • Understand the specific requirements of buildings in the Vancouver area.
  • Possess energy, pragmatism, and the ability to achieve results regardless of circumstances.
