Stacey Danley, Senior Partner at Aplin, is currently recruiting on behalf of one of Manitoba's top law firms. Working out of one of the most beautiful offices in downtown Winnipeg, this is an ideal opportunity for an experienced legal assistant to support a senior partner with a busy corporate commercial practice.

  • Preparing and drafting various correspondence and documents 
  • Opening, updating, organizing, maintaining, and closing legal files and matters
  • Performing conflict checks and initial calls with clients, etc. 
  • Reviewing and revisions of format, spelling and grammar on all final documents
  • Maintaining an efficient electronic and physical file and document management system 
  • Maintaining a full calendar, email management and managing lawyers’ practice and client interactions 
  • Setting up new corporations and preparing closing books
  • Performing due diligence searches through The Property Registry and Land Title Office
  • Registering documents and completing registrations
  • Drafting and filing documents with Companies Office
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned
  • 5+ years of legal administration experience
  • Legal Administrative Assistant certificate or diploma
  • Corporate commercial and/or real estate experience is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
