Electrical Fitter

Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a Moncton, New Brunswick-based company to hire an Electrical Fitter to join their team!

Responsibilities:

• Assemble, install, and test electrical components into deployable shelters using engineering drawings and associated design data.
• Read schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.
• Operate standard equipment including but not limited to multimeters, grinders, venires, micrometers, and band saw.
• Able to assemble and install component pieces using hand and power tools.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Due to projected manufacturing demands, there may be a requirement to work shifts and overtime, when required.
• Train, develop, and mentor other employees.
• Inspect the electrical assembly work of other employees, ensuring the work meets established codes.
• Participate in the creation of job instructions.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.

Qualifications:

• Minimum three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Red Seal Electrician trade certification.
• Experience with electrical, pneumatics, and controls are preferred.
• Available to work overtime as required.
• Must be well organized, self-motivated, and results-oriented, to ensure work assignments are completed in a timely manner.
• Able to deal with and support change.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Soldering skills are considered an asset.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles including 5S, Kanban, and SMEDU
• Attention to detail.
• Able to build trust and respect among fellow team members.         
• Must be eligible to meet requirements of export control and security regulations including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian government security clearances.
