If you are a talented and experienced Litigation Legal Assistant, Aplin has the right opportunity for you! Our Edmonton-based client is looking to hire a Legal Assistant with experience in general litigation. If you happen to have experience in insurance litigation then that is a bonus, otherwise, they have an excellent team ready to train you. The company also takes care of the cost of your benefits.   • Daily correspondence, document preparation, dictation, drafting and court document filing
  • Managing and organizing files, including preparation
  • Scheduling court dates, questionings, and communication with relevant parties
  • Conducting online research and investigations
  • Coordinating with legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers and clients to update on case progress
  • General administrative tasks, such as time tracking and account preparation
  • Preforming additional duties as needed
  • Minimum one year of experience as a legal assistant in litigation
  • Familiarity with litigation law along with terminology and procedures is required
  • Labour & employment litigation experience is a bonus
  • Legal Assistant Diploma or more years of work experience
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative
