Production Supervisor

Responsibilities: 

• Manage production workflow throughout the department
• Scheduling and assigning personnel while establishing priorities
• Oversee department operations and ensure all work and safety procedures are being adhered to
• Train, mentor, and develop the production team
• Providing organization & direction to the daily tasks of the department in areas of quality, equipment, production, & employee issues
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly production report reviews and take required corrective actions
• Providing guidance, training, & development to employees; Overseeing performance management – including conducting performance appraisals, providing coaching & corrective action as required
• Ensure that production and customer requirements are met, and productivity goals are maintained
• Assist with recruiting and new hire selection
• Additional duties as required

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in a supervisory role
• Experience in the operation of programable sewing machines an asset
• Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to deal effectively and constructively with employee issues
• Strong computer proficiency i.e. MS Word and Excel
• Effective Communication skills, both oral and written
• Have proven decision-making, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
• Post-secondary education in Industrial Supervision or Management as an asset
