The Electrical and Electronic engineering function supports the hardware development lifecycle consisting of requirements analysis, design, implementation, test, and verification in order to deliver electronic or electrical components and subassemblies into projects and products.

A professional at this grade applies technical/professional knowledge, making independent judgments based on practice and significant previous experience to support decision-making. Often seen as a referral point or more senior team member to escalate more complex problems. Roles will act independently with minimal guidance and may act as project managers/formal mentors for junior staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed designs and documentation for the creation of schematics, parts, and layouts of circuit card assemblies using printed circuit board design software.
  • Create and review Engineering Change Requests to verify the accuracy, thoroughness, and effect of change on all products.
  • Input or change bill of materials in the standard company enterprise resource planning tool (ERP) and/or Microsoft Excel.
  • Participate in the preparation and validation of the technical data package needed to support engineering development, manufacturing, testing, and high-volume production activities. 
  • Implement standards and procedures to support drawings, bills of materials, processing engineering change notices with sufficient technical and precision to document engineering concepts and new product designs. 
  • Review final documents, checking schematic, board layout, and materials to be used.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews.
  • Assures documents and ECAD files are maintained under proper configuration control.
  • Communicate with tooling, QA, engineering, and manufacturing supporting new and revised designs.
  • Responsible for staying in compliance with EEO, ADA, and all other applicable governmental requirements the company is required to be in compliance with.
  • Perform all other duties as required, requested, or needed.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Four years of technical training with 5+ years experience in ECAD environment using PCB design software or Two years of technical training with 9+ years experience in ECAD environment using PCB design software.
  • Must currently hold or have the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.  Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
  • Understanding of Configuration Management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with Altium or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with circuit simulation tools.
  • Some programming experience, preferably in Visual Basic.
