Reports to: Director of Project Management
Responsibilities:
- Work to achieve standards of excellence and demonstrates flexible and efficient time management, with a strong ability to prioritize workload and present positive solutions, while taking action to meet and exceed client expectations
- Strategize a project execution plan that addresses all aspects of a project from design, procurement, fabrication, through to construction and project closeout
- Develop and maintain all project schedules, identifying critical activities to project completion, monitor schedule performance, update, and take corrective action as required
- Monitor and inspect activities of supply and construction to confirm the project works are in conformance with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
- Contract management involving review and approval of sub-contractor documents, evaluation of contract changes, invoice approvals and discrepancies to support achieving project goals including quality, schedule, and cost
- Liaise between all project stakeholders
- Monitor project performance which includes safety decisions, engineering, contract management, construction activities, schedule, risk assessment and cost controls
- Ensure collection of documentation including contract submittals, QAQC records, as-built documents, as well as issuance of inspections completion certificates.
- Forecast and administer all invoices, changes orders and progress reports
- Full understanding of conceptual design, through to detailed design
- Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience managing custom construction projects more than $2 million
- Completion of relevant post-secondary project such as Project Management Professional Certification (PMP), construction management or engineering
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of contract management, custom projects, small projects, and construction including but not limited to project management, finance, sub-contractor, owners, engineers and client relations, SOP’s, technology, equipment, materials, negotiation, engineering, estimating, scheduling, contracting, change management and safety
- Demonstrated experience as a strategic thinker, knowledge of problem-solving techniques with high degree of analytical skills to provide solution driven results
- Excellent relationship management skills to create and maintain successful internal and external relationships with the ability to deal with opposing opinions and capable of leading discussions and decisions towards the best outcome
- Experience in Industry standard programs such as MS office, MS project and Dynamics
- Valid Drivers Licence
- Ability and willingness to travel within Canada and United States
