Our client, a leading and award-winning law firm, has an opening in their department to help run two lawyer practices. Responsibilities:
  • Commercial contracts, lease agreements, share purchase agreements, loan documents, and various other complex legal documents requiring great attention to detail.
  • Preparing Statements of Adjustment.
  • Organizing and preparing closing books (paper/electronic).
  • Handling post-closing documents, receipt payments, and reporting documents.
  • Preparing accounts, posting time, and receipt payments.
  • Perform dictation, draft general correspondence, opening/closing files, conflict checks organizing files, filing, and photocopying.
  • Managing lawyer calendars and appointments.
  • Liaison with clients, courthouse, and other parties.
  • Working knowledge of residential real estate; preparation of documents; ability to work with or assist the conveyancing paralegal.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant in corporate and/or commercial law.
  • Working knowledge of residential real estate and preparation of documents is an asset.
  • Excellent Microsoft Word and Outlook skills.
  • Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized College/University (an asset).
  • Able to work independently with excellent organizational skills.
  • Detail-orientated with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to shift priorities when needed.
  • Able to collaborate with other team members.
  • Great communicator and client centric.
