  • Ensure compliance with Ministry of Mines and WorkSafeBC Safety Standards
  • Assessment of existing aging infrastructure and development of strategic upgrade plans
  • Assist with electrical reliability program to eliminate defects in electrical equipment on-site
  • General electrical technical support for site power distribution and electrical equipment
  • Support troubleshooting of electrical equipment and conduct root cause analysis for electrical failures
  • Develop, maintain, update, and analyze electrical equipment performance data
  • Develop budgets, schedules, and plans for key projects
  • Create and maintain engineering documents, including drawings in AutoCAD
  • Provide field engineering support for maintenance projects
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate members of the Technical Services department
  • Liaise with engineering firms, suppliers, and contractors as necessary
  • Support Technical Services and other engineering projects as needed


Professional Experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer or Engineer-In-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
  • 5-7 years experience with electrical reliability and maintenance in an industrial setting
  • Knowledge of low, medium, and high voltage power distribution systems, and electrical motors (including large-scale synchronous motors) is required
  • Thorough understanding of applicable standards and practices pertaining to electrical safety in industrial settings is required
  • Exposure to reliability-centered maintenance strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of conveyance systems, controls and variable frequency drives strongly preferred
  • Experience with ETAP or similar power system software considered an asset
  • Exposure to base metals mineral processing and milling/mining equipment considered an asset
  • Red seal (electrical) certificate considered an asset
  • Exposure to project management considered an asset
  • Knowledge/experience with computer-assisted drawing programs (AutoCAD)
  • Good working knowledge of all MS office applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess and maintain a valid Canadian driver’s license

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering field
