Innovation Advisor

Aplin has partnered with one of our top clients to recruit an Innovation Advisor. This position is to fulfill a 12-month maternity leave contract. The position is with a very well-established Alberta company that is a leader in its industry.

The main focus of the position will be:

• Working within existing programs and being a key contributor for influencing innovation programs.
• Frontward facing with employees, which will include;
  • structuring and planning employee workshops
  • engaging in a pathway group to facilitate and deliver pitches to senior leadership.
• Organizing and managing focus groups, events, an innovation summit, and smaller break-out groups
• Working with the team to coordinate and communicate about events.
• Coach and support lean delivery of initiatives through sprints, problem identification, design, delivery, and deployment of prioritized initiatives.
• Enable organizational growth and value through innovation across all horizons.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma in business, technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of related working experience At least three years of progressive experience in innovation, learning and development, design thinking, and continuous improvement.
• Advanced skills in MS Office Suites and other analytical tools.
• Self-starter, results-oriented, with a track record of timely, high-quality deliverables
• Entrepreneurial mindset: nimble, action-biased, and able to iterate.
• Strong knowledge of Corporate Innovation; specifically the lean startup methodology and Business Model Generation.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, facilitation, conflict resolution, and analytical skills
• Strong relationship-building and influencing skills
• Ability to manage and deliver on multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
