Our client, a mid-sized downtown law firm, has partnered with Stacey Danley at Aplin on the search for a Legal Assistant. Joining an established family law practice, this position will provide support to a partner as well as an associate. The successful candidate will have the option of a hybrid work schedule (ideally three to four days a week in the office).

Responsibilities will include:
  • Obtaining all applicable information from prospective clients to do conflict searches, open files, and enter billing information
  • Preparing invoices, processing payments, and managing trust deposits
  • Drafting, proofreading, and organizing documents, pleadings, agreements, certificates, and other communications
  • Preparing petitions and affidavits and managing the submission of documents to court
  • Managing phone calls and scheduling internal and external meetings as needed
  • Organizing files and other administrative tasks as needed
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
  • A minimum of two years of legal administration experience
  • Family law experience is a strong asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
