Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for ensuring the store runs smoothly. This includes overseeing daily operations, scheduling staff, maintaining product quality, managing inventory, enforcing policies and procedures and creating a safe and positive store environment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervising the departments and supporting other departments as needed
• Scheduling and assigning employees, coaching and disciplining staff and training new hires
• Maintaining the store's financial objectives, including budgets and inventory management
• Greeting and assisting customers, identifying their needs and ensuring product availability
• Communicating with purchasing teams to optimize product levels and reviewing sales and promotional plans
• Ensuring the store meets health, safety and security regulations
• Completing other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience in retail management
• Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Time management skills and ability to motivate staff
• Understanding of health and safety and employment laws
• Ability to pass background and credit checks
