Our client, a leading-edge communications company based in Manitoba, is scaling and looking for a Vice President, Sales and Marketing to lead the sales and marketing efforts while contributing to the overall growth strategy.  If you are someone who enjoys leading by example and willing to be hands-on while building the teams, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

This is a remote opportunity, open to candidates in Saskatchewan, with some travel to Brandon, Manitoba required periodically.

  • Responsible for consumer and small business segments, but willing to add commercial segments for those with prior experience
  • Deployment and execution of market mapping, prioritization of which communities to deploy capital to deliver fiber broadband and related services, go-to-market strategy, pricing and value props
  • Promotion and demand generation to drive awareness and consideration through leads and opportunities for sales channels
  • Channel strategy and sales, product management and revenue growth
  • Accountability for market penetration and share, monthly average revenue per customer, monthly churn % and cost per gross addition
  • Develop understanding of customer needs through thoughtful research in order to develop service offering, pricing and bundling strategies
  • Develop segmentation and customer personas to inform customer acquisition and retention strategies

  • Experience with telecom service providers preferred, but open to other relevant business models with recurring revenue, such as financial services
  • Experience with deploying a breadth of demand generation vehicles and sales channels
  • Minimum 5 years responsibility for leading customer acquisition and retention, with a range of experience utilizing various channels for demand generation and sales
  • Previous accountability for market penetration, churn and revenue growth
  • Strong financial acumen and use of data to drive marketing and sales decisions
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial and early-stage business environment with an understanding of how larger businesses operate
  • Prepared to “bootstrap” in the early days while building the teams and business due to lack of experience with the current team members, not due to a lack of capital supporting the business
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and confident with the ability to deal with the intensity of a private equity environment
  • Able to inspire and “tell the story” while projecting the vision in order to attract and retain talent and engage important partners, such as marketing agencies, channel partners and community organizations
