BI Administrator – Cognos

Are you a BI administrator with 11+ years of experience, who has an expertise in Cognos? Do you have extensive experience in building queries and databases using SQL? Do you enjoy working with web servers such as AWS? If so, this is the opportunity for you!

Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the administration, maintenance, operational support, and configuration management of reporting (and reporting related) IBM Cognos 11.1 and future releases
• Serves as subject matter expert in Business Intelligence tools working on problems of diverse scope and complexity
• Serves as a first line of support for technical issues relating to reports or Cognos itself
• Monitors and maintains application security
• Enhances, and performance tunes reports, application servers
• Provides support to reporting communities / power users
• Works with business partners to plan new or enhance existing BI infrastructure
• Designs, Install and Maintains Cognos Cubes, and reporting infrastructure for the enterprise data warehouse and other reporting environments
• Plans Upgrades and enhancements BI environments with the assistance of product architect
• Work with Scrum teams & analytics support teams for maintaining consistent uptime

Qualifications: 

• Good knowledge on Cognos Architecture and experience in installing it in windows & Linux environment
• Experience with 11.x
• Must have SQL experience in building and analyzing queries in Oracle databases
• Must be an expert in administering Cognos Reporting, cubes & Cognos Framework Manager
• Experience working with vendor customer support on issue resolution
• Strong understanding of relational and star-schema database designs is preferred
• Good understanding of ODS/EDW and Content Deployments in BI tools
• Experience in scripting on both Linux & windows
• Nice to have Cognos SDK
• Good knowledge and experience using different Web Servers including AWS
• Ability to work independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments
• Availability to work after hours and/or weekends and on-call, as specified by supervisor
• Must possess a proven track record on business intelligence project delivery and demonstrate exceptional business acumen, strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be an expert on Cognos Reporting & Cognos Framework Manager
• Experience in Dynamic Cubes design best practices along with deployment techniques with large data
• Knowledge on third party administration product called BSP meta manager is nice to have
