We are hiring for our award-winning client, to join their Edmonton office. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience with the ability to manage a heavy workload for a busy Partner.

Responsibilities:
  • Opening files, conflict searches, due diligence searches, posting time, preparing accounts, diarization of files, closing files, receipting payments, filing (electronic/paper), and email management
  • Document preparation (from dictation or precedents) and management, drafting, and filing court documents (in both the Provincial Court and Court of Queen’s Bench)
  • Routine correspondence, communication by email/phone to various stakeholders; regular contact with clients, and other parties
  • Organize trial binders, and evidence binders, preparation of production records and other related tasks
  • Monitor and track all matters, ensuring they move forward and meet all court and internal deadlines
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of litigation experience
  • Understands the processes involved in litigation files within Alberta as well as the ability to manage prepare and manage files and processes for timely completion
  • Knowledge of the Alberta Rules of Court
  • Knowledge or experience with litigation management software (Eclipse, Summation, ACL) are assets
  • Excellent verbal communications skills, ability to communicate in a professional manner
  • Excellent written Communication skills
  • extensive knowledge and skill related to Microsoft Office; ability to use the internet and cloud-based client programs; fast and accurate typist; knowledge of accounting programs such as Elite (3E), and NetDocuments, are assets
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, able to prioritize well under occasional periods of pressure and short deadlines
  • Team player with a positive attitude
