The analyst is involved in all phases of potential transactions, including evaluation of opportunities, development of deal models, due diligence, deal structuring, and transaction execution.

This is a remote opportunity available to candidates in the Greater Toronto Area as onsite visits will be required periodically.

Responsibilities:
  • Support investment and M&A opportunities, including execution, negotiation, due diligence, financial modeling, and valuation
  • Assist in preparing business case analyses for joint ventures, acquisitions, and major capital investments
  • Assist in preparing strategic corporate development presentations for the executive team and board of director audiences
  • Perform market research to evaluate strategic growth opportunities and potential investment or M&A targets
  • Creates frameworks and financial models that address business problems and result in strategic insights
  • Ad-hoc financial modeling assistance to support other business or organizational needs
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required
  • Minimum six (6) years’ experience
  • Experience in corporate development, private equity, M&A, and/or valuation
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with financial statements (ratio analysis, performance return measures)
  • Strong understanding of financial valuation methodologies (e.g., discounted cash flow and comparable company analysis)
  • Strong financial modeling, including the ability to develop driver-based FCF models, including NPV and ROI analysis
  • Experience developing business cases, sophisticated financial projections, analysis, and valuation of significant potential business opportunities
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Enjoys a high-paced work environment and speedy execution of deliverables
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities as business needs evolve
  • Intense attention to detail and the ability to fully articulate business drivers impacting the numbers
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of common research tools, such as Pitchbook, Capital IQ, and Bloomberg
