Certified Professional Accountant

On behalf on one of our most valued clients, Aplin is seeking an experienced professional accountant to assist in bookkeeping and preparing financial statements & tax returns for their individual & corporate clients. This position will also assist in preparing financial plans for clients and prospective clients. Duties: 

• Assist in preparing financial statements, Personal & Corporate Tax Returns and Agri-stability Applications. 
• Assisting clients in making decisions regarding the structure of their business and the associated tax filings
• Preparing financial plans that focus on tax minimization, wealth maximization and estate preservation and based on the client’s goals and objectives. You will have access to exceptional software and a comprehensive process. 
• Provide bookkeeping services internally and for clients.

Skills/Qualifications: 

• Proficiency in CaseWare, QuickBooks, AgExpert & other accounting programs
• Strong knowledge in estate planning concepts, personal and corporate tax issues. A farm background is an asset. 
• Exceptional computer skills and able to learn new software easily. 
• Well-developed planning skills backed by education and experience with a CPA firm. 
• Well-developed communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
• Self-motivated and able to work without supervision, but with a dedicated team focus. 
• Strong organizational and time management skills. 
• Professional behavior and appearance.

Education & Experience Requirements: 

• Chartered Professional Accountant Designation is an asset.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional accounting environment.
• Have the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation considered an asset.
