Project Manager, Construction

If you are a talented and experienced Construction Project Manager, Aplin has the right opportunity for you!  As a Project Manager, you will be tasked with managing construction projects and providing technical services. This is the perfect job for some who strives to merge technical engineering and practical construction services. This position is located in Brandon, Manitoba.

Responsibilities: 

• Supporting all aspects of construction work 
• Work on proposals for various contract models
• Preparing estimates for quoted and tendered work
• Managing schedules, materials and subcontractors
• Aiding in job cost tracking
• Preparing and submitting environmental management plans
• Supporting the safety coordinator in completing daily and project specific safety requirements
• Reporting on project progress, offering viable solutions and opportunities as they arise
• Providing technical services, including inspections, maintenance plans, as well as other design services when required
• Writing technical reports
• Communicating customer issues and devising ways for improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints

Education and Experience:

• Civil degree or diploma, or strong background in leadership construction management role
• Two or more years of project management in dealing with municipal, provincial/government-based projects
• Construction/carpentry experience is an asset, although not required

Skills and Competencies:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Exceptional planning, scheduling and collaborating skills
• Effectively communicate with trade contractors and technical/design team
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy and commitment to well-constructed projects
• Class 5 license
