Our client, a leader in their field, has partnered with Aplin to find a candidate who will be responsible for establishing, implementing, developing, and controlling best practices for digital transformation initiatives throughout the organization.
This is a 12-month contract available to candidates in the Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto area.

This is a 12-month contract available to candidates in the Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto area.
Responsibilities:
- Define how the scope, goals, and deliverables of IT projects should support business goals, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
- Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project lifecycle
- Effectively communicate and manage project expectations to project managers, owners, sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion
- Establish project timelines and milestones/deliverables using the appropriate tools
- Determine frequency and content of status reports from project managers, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas/mitigate project risks
- Review budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
- Accept and assess status reports, change requests, and requirements documentation to ensure smooth project progression
- Risk management, including risk assessment, contingency planning, tracking risk status, and initiating contingency plans
- Communication management, including communication planning and execution of the plan
- Deliverable acceptance process, including identification of who will be accepting project deliverables and the process that will be used
- Tracking project roadmap, feature-milestone forecasting, monitoring delivery progress utilizing Jira/Azure tools for preparing and presenting reports to stakeholders
- University degree in computer science, business, or engineering, or a combination of related disciplines and experience
- 5-10 years of experience managing Information Technology projects
- 5+ years running projects in Agile or Scrum environments
- Certified Scrum Master, PMP, or equivalent
- Expertise in project lifecycles, and project planning including resources, cost, and schedule estimation
- Experience developing business cases
- Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes
- Knowledge and experience with the entire software development lifecycle and business analysis methodologies
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office, Visio, and Project
- Ability to work in Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall in the context of large IT projects
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to facilitate relations between business groups and technology departments
