Responsibilities:
As a member of our Western Canada Infrastructure team, you will have a range of responsibilities from preparation of tender and construction documents to utility coordination for highway rehabilitation and expansion projects for Alberta Transportation and Municipalities within Alberta. Responsibilities:
As a member of our Western Canada Infrastructure team, you will have a range of responsibilities from preparation of tender and construction documents to utility coordination for highway rehabilitation and expansion projects for Alberta Transportation and Municipalities within Alberta. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist with the development of preliminary and detailed engineering drawings including plans, profiles, and cross-sections
- Assist with preparing specifications, contract tender documents, and tender quantities
- Assist with preparing project specific plans and drawings
- Create, manage and distribute project related utility documentation and correspondence
- Prepare and coordinate utility crossing plans, agreements and relocations
- Acquire third party utility crossing agreements
- Interpret and implement standards from regulatory bodies
- Produce written reports
- Produc design and tracking spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
- Maintain positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Completion of a college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Engineering Design and Drafting Technology
- 5 - 10 years’ consulting experience completing Transportation projects for provincial government or Municipal clients
- Ability to read and understand survey plans and drawings
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD software. Civil 3D experience will be considered an asset
- Excellent field negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Available to travel, evenings and weekends may be necessary
- Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination
- Knowledge of or experience in the field on construction projects would be an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Ability to work with engineers on multidisciplinary projects
- Provide a 3 year driver abstract with 2 or less minor incidents and no major incidents
